Q. How did you come up with the title of your book?
An ant's 'adventure' undertaking a journey to find its own purpose - therefore 'Antventures'.
Q. What inspired you to write this book?
Comparing my travel experiences with the daily rut of corporate life made me realise that life has so much more to discover, so many things that we should be doing other than our primary job. If people travel and seek adventure, they will find fulfillment that will be different from everything they have ever experienced.
Q. Among all themes and topics, why did you choose this one in particular?
For the universe, we are but insignificant ants. If you cease to exist tomorrow, the world will move on within 24 hours and you will be forgotten. This topic hopes to encourage others to seek fulfillment in life through travel, dialogue and adventure, and find their true purpose in life.
Q. What personal experiences have shaped your writing the most?
Travelling to different regions, witnessing cultures and meeting people who think very differently from us has helped shape my writing. Reading my grandmother 'Narayani's books while growing up encouraged me to write and take my thoughts to the world.
Q. What does being a published author mean to you, beyond seeing your words in print?
Most people say they want to write a book; very few people actually do it. A published author is an accolade in itself, and for me it is a homecoming to the world of writing which I had abandoned many years ago. It is also a huge responsibility, because authors shape the opinions of society.
Q. What can we, as readers expect from this book?
Cidae's expedition is a very unique perspective, attempting to guide the reader into thinking how they can break the cycle of dread and boredom in their lives and take on new adventures and create new things through discovery and dialogue.
Q. How do you expect your readers to use this book optimally?
It is a short book, read it in one go and look for cues which help you identify the moves you can make in your lives to change it drastically.
